This patient underwent a routine non contrast Spectral brain scan immediately after an interventional procedure to check for intracranial hemorrhage.
The monochromatic 65 keV image shows a hyperdense area.
Using Spectral analysis, the VNC image shows the hyperdense area still present indicating this area has no iodine, confirming an intracranial hemorrhage.
The iodine map fusion image and Iodine (Water) basis material image confirms the result seen in the VNC image.
Spectral DLR enables improved assessment of lumen stenosis in the presence of calcified plaque. Interactive monochromatic image display enables improved opacification of the injected contrast with low keV images and reduced calcium blooming artifacts with high keV images.
The range of monochromatic energy levels (35-135 keV) can be visualized in real time through an image slider in the application that can be integrated in to a PACS.
