Advanced machine and Deep Learning innovation

Using the latest deep convolutional neural networks and machine learning innovations, you can now access the diagnostic information you need to put your patients on the path to a more tailored treatment approach.

Advanced intelligent Clear-IQ Engine (AiCE)

Harness the incredible power of AiCE

Canon Medical’s Advanced intelligent Clear-IQ Engine is an innovative Deep Learning Reconstruction technology that’s been trained to reduce noise and boost signal to deliver sharp, clear and distinct images at speed. AiCE is a robust AI technology that can be applied to all body regions and a wide range of CT scan protocols and MR sequences. AiCE is available for all CT and MR segments.

Precise IQ Engine (PIQE)

PIQE is a Deep Learning Reconstruction (DLR) algorithm developed by Canon Medical that helps deliver clear, sharp and distinct images for both CT and MR.

In MR, PIQE images are obtained with the same scan time as conventional scans and can capture structures more sharply than AiCE whilst maintaining SNR.

In CT, PIQE images provide increased spatial resolution and excellent low contrast detectability to deliver sharper anatomical detail for better delineation of small anatomical structures, and sharper borders between structures.

Anatomical Landmark Detection (ALD)

Using data acquired via an ultra-low dose, three-dimensional helical scan called the 3D Landmark Scan, ALD can accurately identify the anatomical structures required to perform automatic scan planning for all routine examinations. ALD not only helps save operator time but also helps promote scan range and scan planning consistency, enabling the operator to focus on the patient.

3rd Harmonic Imaging

AI-enabled innovation for more detail and depth

3rd Harmonic Imaging (3-HI) is a technology that utilizes the frequency components of the ultrasound beam at three times the transmitted frequency.
Developmentally, to extract the 3rd harmonic components from the huge quantity of received signals, an AI filter for 3rd harmonic was designed using deep learning that allows the effective extraction and utilization of the 3rd harmonic signal.
Using the 3rd harmonic sharpens the received beam, reduces multiple reflections and sidelobes, and achieves B-mode images with less noise in the vessel lumen and clearer tissue structures around the vessel.

CAD4TB

Saving lives, changing the world

As a strategic partner of Canon Medical, Delft Imaging Systems has been set up to create Deep Learning innovations that help physicians diagnose and treat Tuberculosis (TB) in developing countries. Together with our subsidiary Oldelft Benelux BV, Canon Medical is providing complete TB screening solutions that responds to the specific needs of vulnerable communities around the world.

How it works:
Trained to detect TB pathology, such as diffuse textural patterns, focal patterns, and pleural-related abnormalities, CAD4TB scans patients and provides clinicians with a score that indicates the likelihood of infection.

So far, we have been able to screen and provide life-saving care to more than three million people around the world – all thanks to the ongoing development of AI-assisted solutions.

Efficiently remove unnecessary noise

Intelligent NR* is comprised of Canon‘s proprietary AI technology that utilizes deep learning, and is based on approximately 3,000 X-ray images carefully selected from the clinical images of the CXDI series that Canon has accumulated over the years. The AI technology is based on machine learning of the noise characteristics of various radiographic sites.
Compared to conventional noise reduction processing, the new system can efficiently remove unnecessary noise while maintaining the necessary image signals, achieving noise reduction of up to 50%.
